Educating, swabbing, and running to end blood cancer!

Amy Pettit Merriman

“For me, getting swabbed was never a question of should I or shouldn’t I. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. There are so many misconceptions about donating bone marrow. If people took the time to read about the process, they would understand that the procedure has been simplified.

The process isn’t the painful procedure that it used to be. I’ve heard people say that they aren’t willing to go through any procedure for someone they don’t know. But all I can think is, what if my family, my friends, or myself were in need of bone marrow, I would hope that people took the time to get tested.”
